About/Updates

* Late July-August 2nd- Creation for this little app began, while I'd had ideas for it since a month or so, ago. This was another one of those "Who would use this when they could just jot all their recipes down on a blank calendar?" and "How can this app even be made?" questions. Thank goodness I decided against some kind of auth-needing database that demanded logins to keep up with every account. Instead, everything gets saved to the browser automatically--so if you ever cleared your cache, all your stored data on this site should also vanish into the void, and you'd need to start all over haha.

Why isn't there a save and load feature? Tested that. Hooooo boi, I wanted that to work, but while the save feature did what it was supposed to, the loading part wouldn't read the file formats correctly. JSON, and TXT, types just wouldn't load correctly, regardless of how their inner structures were designed. Bringing that into the mix just ate the whole calendar function, so I reluctantly did away with it. Exporting an image with the meals populated to the calendar was the best that could be offered at the time haha. Maybe that might change in the future? Probably not. The site works as it's supposed to, so I wouldn't want to poke it too much more haha. I've tested this site, via desktop, on just Chrome, and Firefox, so far. I've no idea how wonky it might look on mobile, just yet!

And if you may be wondering why the "(Dinner)" tag is significantly redundant, initially, there were more meal types to choose from, but keeping up with them all confused me when the main focus was just one calendar, so away with them they went!!
And if you're wondering what kind of name is "Lemokiem", it's a type of backwards version of a screenname I've been using for years: "MelMeiko". Haha.

* August 4-5- Upon testing this site on mobile, I can confirm it works fine, EXCEPT for the drag and drop in the month blocks. Unfortunately, I'm unable to test updating that locally, and will need to continuously make live deployments in order to observe any tweaks--which would be messy for a user in the middle of working on their calendar!! Haha. Even so, there is a chance I can fix that for mobile. Herp-derp; although the site is live, right now, I haven't publicly announced it, so now's my opportunity to conquer the mobile hiccup--even though I put the app together with desktop in mind haha!!

*August 5th; 3:15am- Alright! After much trial and even more error, a mobile version FINALLY does something! A long-press should keep the page stationary for a while, when preparing a calendar cell drag and drop. So, hooray! The site has working mobile function, now! I might add more effects to it, but knowing it works now is good enough. I need to force myself to pull away and get some reluctant rest, anyway haha.

*August 5th 7:31pm- Updated the mobile version so the drag and drop doesn't accidentally act like it's highlighting text, anymore. This might require more tweaking, but I probably won't make an announcement in here for it haha. Oh! The export for JPG has been removed, and replaced with a screenshot-for-print version. Don't worry, it a printer-friendly black and white. Alright! I'm done, now! I may make updates with UI tweaks, but things look good! Yippee!

Please enjoy the site!
